Barbara Fitzgerald

English teacher

Hi, my name is Barbara Fitzgerald, BA (2 Hons) and I have been teaching English at One World for about 14 years. As a graduate in Humanity studies, I have a keen interest in people, linguistics and world culture. Along with TEFL and CELTA accreditation, I use a combined communicative teaching method with a healthy emphasis on grammar structure to enable students to achieve their goals at every level: from students requiring exam preparation, professionals who need to improve their language level for international work, people who travel abroad or those who just want to learn for pleasure. What I love about teaching is meeting so many wonderful people, exchanging ideas and supporting them in accomplishing their objectives.

Tracy Smith

English teacher

I'm Tracy from the UK. I've been teaching English as a foreign language at One World for 14 years. My experience includes teaching one-to-one and group courses of all levels and ages. My career in teaching began when my two children reached school age. I strongly desired a job where I could use English and my British culture. I gained a TESOL qualification and began collaborating with schools in Italy on various projects which required a mother-tongue English teacher. I'm passionate about what I do and truly believe a relaxed classroom, stimulating conversations and enjoyable lessons encourage and motivate students to reach their goals.

I'm Alex and I've been teaching English in colleges, schools and businesses in England and Italy since 2013. I have a TEFL Masters certificate, a degree in Materials Science, a Masters degree in Advanced Manufacturing Systems and Technology and I've taken a Business Studies degree course. My career has spanned R&D, accountancy, Quality Assurance and Systems Analysis. My specialisms are teaching English for Work, Exam Preparation (e.g. IELTS) and conversation so my varied work experience is a great advantage. What I like best about teaching English is that it can help people change their lives.
